Sanctuary Counseling Seattle (SCS) is committed to provide professional, compassionate, and transformational counseling for individuals, couples, and families within the urban context of Seattle. The goal of counseling is to provide a relational framework of growth by equipping individuals, couples, and families with emotional and spiritual wholeness. The counselors of SCS are trained individuals committed to transformation, redemption and hope in dealing with mental health and wellness. Our Approach
SCS's counseling philosophy is wholistic. We believe that people are made in God's image and when we think about the health of a person the dimensions of both body and soul need to be considered. Our approach is to explore three interrelated perspectives: the Existential, the Situational, and the Normative. A person cannot adequately understand oneself or one's situation without an understanding of self as being shaped and changed by and through relationship.
Although counselors at SCS are guided by a Christian worldview, your counselor will be sensitive to your religious/cultural differences and perspectives. Based on your counseling needs, you may be advised to take appropriate tests/inventories or seek medical treatment to facilitate the counseling process. CCS adheres to the Code of Ethics prescribed by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and American Christian Counseling Association.
